About the position

Join Shipshape and become a part of the elite installation and sales group we call the “Seal Team”. You will inspire homeowners to get their homes in Shipshape condition! Your work will focus on supporting our sales strategy and lead generating efforts, including making phone calls and sending emails to help move leads through our sales pipeline. You will talk with a wide range of people from different backgrounds and will often be the first contact for our customers. As a product knowledge specialist, you will identify challenges and confidently provide practical solutions to prospects. In addition, you will have the ability to meet directly with customers at their home to help identify and install the right Shipshape solution.

This is one of the most important jobs in the company because you will be the first person to put the power of Shipshape technology into the hands of our customers.
  • Become an expert in smart home applications to home maintenance and the Shipshape solutions.
  • Work through lead lists and reach out to potential customers to find the right fit for customers.
  • Educate our prospects about our suite of services.
  • Set up appointments for Shipshape home installs with new customers.
  • Partner with the operations team to deliver quality customer service.
  • Install Shipshape hardware to bring customer’s homes online.
  • Work with our Home Assistant Team to delivery quality customer service

Here is what to expect during a customer consultation
  • You will spend roughly an hour in the customer’s home.
  • The first part of the experience is a conversation to formally introduce Shipshape and understand the homeowner’s needs so that you can make a good recommendation about what critical home systems they should connect. After you help the homeowner make the purchase decision, you will begin the installation.
  • To install the system, you will connect the smart home “hub” to the homeowner’s internet router and pair the sensors through the Shipshape mobile app. Then you will mount and place the sensors to connect the critical systems.
  • During the installation you will perform a basic inspection to collect photographs and important information for the homeowner. You will the provide a post installation report to the Shipshape home office so that the appropriate follow-up steps can be taken.
  • Before you leave the house, you will show the homeowner how to access Shipshape on their mobile phone.

Requested experience
  • Experience in sales or relationship management.
  • Ability to be goal-oriented, self-motivated, confident, thorough and committed.
  • Ability to operate with enthusiasm and flexibility in a constantly evolving team environment.
  • Ability to build influential relationships and deliver results in a cross-functional/matrixed environment.
  • Experience in setting up and installing internet, computer equipment, audio video and/or home stereo equipment.
  • Not afraid to get hands dirty! Installs will include climbing into attics and going into crawl spaces.
  • Experience in home improvement or home renovations is a plus.
  • Experience working with Salesforce or another CRM is a plus.

This is a quota carrying position that stands to make a high bonus for hitting sales goals.
