An Operations Management Trainee will be exposed to all facets of the scrap processing business during a hands-on Trainee period. This will include buying and inspecting scrap, transportation and logistics, and overseeing operations and maintenance of various equipment such as cranes, shears, and shredders. Interaction with vendors/suppliers, customers, and employees. Other duties will include responsibility for OSHA and safety. The Trainee period does not have a specific time frame but generally takes 12-18 months to become familiar with the business in order to assume greater responsibility. It is the goal of the Trainee program to develop individuals to assume management or commercial roles upon conclusion.

A Traditional trainee spends 12-18 months in one geographic location and then gets placed at the conclusion of their training.

Ideal candidate will have:

1.Bachelor’s degree in business or engineering.

2.Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to adapt to changing assignments.

3.Good verbal and written communication skills – ability to interface effectively with customers and employees.

4.Willingness to relocate to any of the facilities throughout the country.
