Whirlpool Engineering Rotational Leadership Development (WERLD) Program- Full Time, July 2022

The Full Time Program:
The Whirlpool Engineering Rotational Leadership Development (WERLD) program is one of our most successful and longest running programs. WERLD is focused on developing a strong engineering foundation in order to prepare participants for the variety of career paths available within Whirlpool's Global Product Organization. Program participants benefit from impactful assignments, global team projects, integrated training, and formal coaching and mentoring programs over the course of this 3-5 year experience. 
 
Your Day-to-Day Within the Program:
Assignments in the program will focus on development in these spaces:
  • Introduction to engineering and technology from a global product perspective
  • 3 rotations of 6-12 months each in project areas such as: 
  • Product Development
  • Research & Development
  • Systems Engineering
  • Product Approval and Testing Laboratories
  • Consumer Science
  • Engineering Capability
  • Product Quality
  • Manufacturing
  • Opportunity to learn Lean Six Sigma and apply techniques
  • Leadership, technical, and cross-functional competency development
 
Other benefits of the program include:
  • Opportunity for a performance-based 1 year international assignment in one of our many technology research centers around the world
  • Sponsorship and funding opportunity for continuing education for a technical Master's degree after the 3 rotations are completed

Your Background and Experience:
 
Required Background and Experience-
  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree with plans to graduate in Fall of 2021 or Spring of 2022,with a concentration in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering/Science or relevant engineering field
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
 
Preferred Background and Experience-
  • Cumulative G.P.A. of 3.2/4.0 or higher
  • Ability to apply engineering theory to practical problems and demonstrated technical ability through project work (internships, research, design projects, clubs)
  • Demonstrated deep technical ability through classwork and project work 
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts at a high level and in depth
  • Actively involved in campus or community activities and organizations, preferably in leadership roles
  • Demonstrated critical thinking ability and systems engineering mindset to solve challenging problems
  • Ability to work with and lead teams
  • “Own It” Attitude- self motivated to drive for differentiated results
  • Displays influential leadership potential
