Risk Analyst

  • Job Title: Risk Analyst
  • Job Location: Dayton, Ohio

  • Reporting to the Director of Risk Management, the Risk Analyst is responsible for supporting the company’s global insurance program, business continuity planning, and assisting with other enterprise risk management programs. This role involves extensive communication and relationship building with external partners, internal management, and a broad range of company employees. The Risk Analyst should have a propensity for organization, efficiency, and excellent written & verbal communication skills. Keys to being successful in this role include the ability to operate in a complex and global organization, the ability to influence without authority, and being comfortable with ambiguity.


  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Support Trimble Insurance Program
  • Support the day-to-day operations for Trimble’s global insurance program, including identifying appropriate needs for local insurance, types, amounts and features of insurance coverage. Also includes the tracking and maintenance of various portfolio insurance policies.
  • Make recommendations regarding coverage options and levels while balancing expenses.
  • Conduct ongoing review and analysis of potential exposures critical to the business.
  • Maintain and develop strong relationships with external partners in the claim process including brokers, insurance carriers and third-party administrators.
  • Ensure reporting requirements are met under existing insurance policies.
  • Work with managers and legal department on claims management strategies.
  • Assist in the management of claims, including those in litigation
  • Oversee the collection and maintenance of all underwriting information for all lines of insurance
  • Procure and track required certificates of insurance
  • Review contractual requirements for insurance and ensure compliance
  • Support insurance integrations and transitions for acquisitions
  • Provide monthly and quarterly reports to management
  • Assist with Enterprise Risk Management Programs
  • Participate in various projects and activities to include, risk identification, risk assessment and risk mitigation
  • Support Trimble’s risk management program with contributions in all aspects of Trimble’s ERM model including culture/awareness, risk identification, risk assessment, risk governance, risk measurement, control environment and response capabilities
  • Proactively review risk management department processes and procedures and recommend improvements as warranted.
  • Assist in the annual risk assessment process within the company. Assist in analysis and reporting of assessment results. Based on results, assist in actions to manage risks identified in the survey.
  • Coordinate Business Continuity Planning
  • Ensure the company’s Business Continuity Planning is maintained at key locations and updated on an annual basis.
  • Coordinate plan testing with a team of subject matter experts and leaders on an annual basis
  • Expand Business Continuity Plans for critical locations and processes

  • Skills and Experience Required:
  • BA/BS Degree in risk management or finance-related field required.
  • Minimum of 2 to 5 years of work experience preferred
  • A risk management designation, or the ability to obtain one is preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and presentation skills. The ability to make large group presentations and consult effectively one-on-one.
  • Strong cross group collaboration. A solid track record of achieving success through teamwork and collaboration.
  • Proven track-record influencing without authority, resolving conflict, and measuring results
  • Track record of being adaptable, agile, and ability to deal with ambiguity
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and results oriented
  • Enterprise risk management experience, such as working with risk management frameworks (e.g., COSO ERM, ISO 31000) is a plus.
  • Demonstrated practical, hands-on, “can-do” approach, and the ability to work creatively.
  • Good judgment and conflict resolution skills.
  • Flexibility with schedule and ability to work beyond regular business hours to support a global organization
