Consumer Sales Development Program
Successful candidates should expect a hybrid onboarding experience of virtual and in-person training during their first 3 months prior to being placed in their territory. Majority of the in-person training would be located at the headquarter facility in Akron, OH.
 
Primary Purpose of the Position
Our successful associates demonstrate intentional and insightful strategies with exceptional customer service delivering higher sales results for their territory. Because our associates do not sit directly with their teams, the organization places a high-value on clear communication, active listening and the ability to adapt well to changing priorities. Prior to relocating to your assigned territory and filling a key role within the Consumer Sales organization, you and your Consumer Sales Development Program (CSDP) counterparts will experience 12 weeks of training to gain the tools, knowledge and network to prepare you for your next assignment, a Retail Development Specialist. At the conclusion of training before advancing to a territory, a CSDP member must successfully demonstrate: • The knowledge and skills to train retail store associates to effectively increase sales of Goodyear products, programs and relevant marketing information • An ability to build and leverage collaborative business relationships with strategic customers, regional business partners and internal support teams to become the sales/business consultant of choice • The use of analytical skills to execute strategies for priority customers to improve the business performance of Goodyear products • The ability to assess and evaluate the effect of competitive products and programs in retail stores based on their position, price and promotional offerings • Effective communication, time management, organization and planning skills necessary to manage a geographical territory
 
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
  • Attend, participate and contribute to the successful completion of the 12-week training program. Engage in all course sessions, activities and team meetings. Actively participate in group activities, team assignments/discussions and individual study practices.
  • Complete all assignments, tests and in-class coursework on time and with satisfactory or better results (including a final assessment in order to advance to your next assignment, a Retail Development Specialist). Complete all corporate orientation and business ethics courses.
  • Acquire the knowledge and skills needed to successfully take on and execute the requirements of your next assignment - Outlined in the purpose of the CDSP role. Demonstrate ability to interpret business analytics and market trends - Utilize creativity and critical thought to improve overall awareness and drive business results.
  • Demonstrate financial responsibility, accuracy and integrity (according to corporate guidelines) in all travel planning and expense reporting.
  • Demonstrate effective/professional communication (written/verbal) skills in all correspondence and interactions.
 
Education & Certifications
  • Bachelors degree (by July 2021)
 
Experience
  • Minimum 3.0 overall GPA
  • Willingness to travel and relocate within the United States
  • Experience in delivering exceptional customer service- Desired
  • Experience in tire or automotive related field - Desired
  • Experience in Retail Sales or account/territory management – Desired
 
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Excellent communication (written/verbal) skills - Along with persuasive sales ability and customer service orientation
  • Demonstrate creativity, analytical skills and ability to be accountable for business results
  • Ability to build relationships with internal/external stakeholders
  • Demonstrates time management, planning and organizational skills
  • Interpret business analytics, market trends and other industry data to improve overall awareness and drive business results
