Red Bike is looking for a talented and visionary individual to continue and complete a website migration from WordPress to Squarespace, creating a dynamic and responsive platform that will position the organization appropriately to bring new people to bikeshare and foster positive user experiences.
This is a new contract position created to support Red Bike’s need to migrate to a more viable and less management-intensive web platform.
The Front End Web Developer will be responsible for completing the design & layout of the new site and ensuring functionality on mobile and desktop platforms. Integration with common and proprietary processes and plugins will be a key component of the project. Accessible design and functionality is a must in this endeavor.
Red Bike is the region’s most fun system of public transportation: A bike sharing system serving Cincinnati & Northern Kentucky with 600 classic and electric-assist bicycles, from 60 stations. Training on the bikeshare system and its functionality and integrations will be provided.
The Web Developer will report to the Operations Manager. Together they will determine a schedule to complete the project.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The Web Developer’s project responsibilities are to complete a migration of the Red Bike website from WordPress to Squarespace.
· Produce and design (with feedback) a visually pleasing and accessible final website.
· Consult with Red Bike Admin staff to ensure list of deliverables
· Gather, qualify, and create unique digital art assets (including photography)
· Integrate new “Store” with Stripe
· Integrate “Red Bike Go” qualifying form within new Squarespace environment
· Establish “Blog” and provide instruction to Admin team on ongoing usage
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
· Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, etc.
· Experience with Adobe Creative Suite
· Familiarity with Squarespace and WordPress
· Problem solving and critical thinking skills
· Self-motivated and ability to meet deadlines
· Capable of working independently with limited oversight
· Willingness to collaborate to achieve organizational goals
· Comfortable in a fast-paced work environment
· Commitment to having fun
