Chemical/Materials Engineer
- Coordinates the preparation, mixing, and vulcanizing process for rubber.
- Read and understand the different specifications to perform material testing. Common tests include heat aging, fluid resistance, compression properties, and low temperature testing,
- Set-up tests and evaluations in the Materials Engineering Laboratory.
- Responsible for the development of new materials to meet the needs of our internal and external consumers.
- Analyze data, draw conclusions, present finding to peers and management and document results in reports.
- Responsible for working with rubber suppliers to get the proper materials to meet the required specifications.
- Optimize the rubber material of each project based on the application.
- Knowledge of polymers and polymers properties.
- Coordinate material evaluations through external labs for tests including rhinometry, DSC, TGA, FTIR, and spectrometry.
- Analyze products for possible contamination.
- Participate in new research and development projects.
- Maintenance of the laboratory and its machinery.
- Participate in meetings and effectively communicate with project leaders.
