Analyst - Cybersecurity Business Line

Global Security & Innovative Strategies is a consulting and strategic advisory firm headquartered in Washington, DC that provides worldwide services. GSIS leverages its extensive private sector, homeland and public security, public sector, and international expertise to provide comprehensive solutions for its clients. These solutions range from investigations, end-to-end security assessments, design and implementation to government relations support and business advisory services such as due-diligence, new market entrance, and business intelligence.

GSIS is seeking an Analyst - Cybersecurity Business Line to support the GSIS Cybersecurity line.

Responsibilities
The Cybersecurity Operations Analysts supports the Managing Director and Executive Director for
Cybersecurity, while reporting directly to Cyber Associates and Cyber Project Managers, for the smooth functioning of the GSIS Cybersecurity line. Specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  1. Maintain awareness of all initiatives in the business development pipeline and ongoing contracted work.
  2. Assist in the development of cybersecurity proposals and client deliverables, to include cybersecurity assessments, risk assessments, organizational reviews, and maintaining frameworks.
  3. Develop and maintain a client deliverables calendar identifying when deliverables are due to the client.
  4. Help identity new forms of technology and service offerings such as threat intelligence, threat hunting program, threat monitoring platforms, and tools.
  5. Assist in communicating cybersecurity threats, emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and risks, as well as mitigating strategies in accordance with the client’s risk appetite.
  6. Support the creation of cybersecurity policies and updating framework.
  7. Assist in creating business development contacts and ideas.
  8. Assist Accounting with the maintenance of a spreadsheet identifying purchase orders/invoice numbers/contract numbers, dates/amounts of invoices/payments, to the subs and clients.
  9. Develop and maintain an invoicing/payment calendar identifying when invoicing is due from the subs, payments are due to the subs, invoicing is due to the client, and when payment is due from the client.
  10. Maintain and efficiently structure the cybersecurity SharePoint site. Folders and sub-folders should be standardized and continuously updated with appropriate documentation.
  11. As directed by Cyber Associates, take notes at select meetings and disseminate meeting minutes to GSIS leadership within 24 hours.
  12. Craft NDAs, MSA’s, and teaming agreements as directed. Maintain a matrix of partners and status of said agreements.
  13. If required by client, draft Monthly Status Reports describing work completed in support of the client over the last 30 days and next 30 days.
  14. Schedule and coordinate Cybersecurity meetings utilizing a variety of communications mediums to include F2F, conference line, and Microsoft Teams.
  15. Assist Cyber Associates with reviewing cybersecurity related expenses.
  16. Assist Cyber Associates with tracking man hours of the Directors, Project Managers, and Associates in the time keeping service.
  17. Maintain visibility on cybersecurity calendars and events.
  18. Operate effectively in both in office and remote work environments.

NOTE: Due to COVID-19 restrictions, this position will be considered temporarily remote. Remote work permanently can be discussed.

Qualified candidates should have/be-able-to:
  • Demonstrated experience in information security management, application security, IoT, and understanding of cybersecurity practices.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of cybersecurity practices, methods, frameworks, and management.
  • Demonstrate an ability to dynamically capture dialogue of a multi-person meeting, summarize outcome and disseminate the result.
  • Excellent communication, writing, organizational, analysis, problem solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • 0-2 years of experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree required. Related fields of information technology, cybersecurity, computer science, or electrical engineering, preferred.

Preferably:
  • Certifications (one or more): A+, Net+, Sec+, CySA, or similar.
  • Experience with scripting and programming languages.
  • Experience with developing application program interfaces (APIs).
