Summary
The position provides the aspiring finance and accounting professional with unique experiences in accounting, finance and related functions. Over the course of this three year rotational program, the incumbent will have the opportunity to develop their career through rotations that will last between nine and twelve months. The rotations are designed to provide a well-rounded view of Covetrus’ business and finance competencies, where the individual will be expected to make significant contributions to the overall success of the organization. The program will offer training through each rotation to develop the individual’s core competencies and result in well-rounded business professionals that will be the future leaders within the company.
Responsibilities for initial rotation
Rotation Department: Credit Operations
Overview: In this role, the analyst will be a key member of the Credit Analysis team, working with our Strategic Accounts team to communicate when credit reviews of strategic customers are due, communicating with customers and our team members to obtain financial statements and preparing a financial review utilizing our ‘Risk Model’.  Analyst will prepare credit approval requests that will be routed to senior finance leadership for approval.  Analyst will track key A/R KPI’s and distribute metrics to finance leaders.  Analyst will provide support to the overall team with a focus on reviewing customer requests for new accounts or changes.  Analyst will provide support to our Global Financial Services team to assure revenue tracked, our Sales team is properly compensated and interact with outside financial institutions to help drive the performance of our programs.
  • Work with Credit, Sales and Finance leaders to track performance of financial programs
  • Prepare financial analysis tracking key performance indicators
  • Prepare credit analysis and approvals requests for senior finance leadership’s review
  • Review customer credit applications and assist with establishing new customer accounts
  • Learn and understand A/R process including banking/lockbox operations, posting of funds, credit approval process and collections process
  • Actively participate in all process improvement projects
  • Maintain SOPs for job function
Required Knowledge and Skills

  • 0 – 2 years of financial accounting experience (internship experience included).
  • Experience analyzing situations and resolving problems in school and/or work situations.
  • Experience building and maintaining relationships within a team.
  • Good analytical and organizational skills.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including formula and lookup capabilities.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to successfully interact with personnel at various levels.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, function independently and work as part of a team.
Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a major in Accounting, Finance, or related field required (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Advanced degree such as M.S. in Business Management, Operations, Finance or related field is preferred.
