Paper Science Summer Internship

Buckeye Business Products is a label manufacturer based in Downtown Cleveland. We sell labels to 15,000 customers, all of which are made on-site. We have 31 converting lines and around 200 employees. Every year we like to bring fresh minds into the business – to work on projects of high interest to the business.

At the present time, we are working on developing new coated grades for specialty label applications, using a pilot coater. Projects in the past have included testing adhesive formulations, process optimization, silicone aging studies, testing for environmental effects of our product performance, and more.

We have hired numerous Miami students in the past (mainly Paper Science minors or majors).
This year we are looking for 1-2 people who want to work in an industrial environment – 40 hours a week, in a formulation or development role.

In a fast-moving company projects change – but whatever the project assigned, we expect the incumbent to bring their intellect to bear to improve our business, to write up reports of the same, and to give an exit presentation. Should there be University requirements for reporting we are happy to do those.

The wage shall be $14 an hour, and we expect the student to be productive from a mutually agreed-on time after the beginning of the summer break and returning to school in the fall.

A skype/Messenger etc. interview will be held with each applicant at an agreeable time.
