Logistics Intern

CHEP Logistics Internship
Location: Orlando, FL
Reports to: Logistics Manager
 
Position Purpose            
In support of the Logistics team, proactively manage customer collections and deliveries to ensure customer expectations are exceeded. Actively manage all relocations and other moves related to the operation and service of the network.
·        Overall Objective: Understanding the inner workings of the CHEP US Logistics Supply Chain pipeline. 

Major/Key Accountabilities       
•                    Booking Loads (Camp Open Orders)
•                    Track and Trace
•                    Inventory Management
•                    Service Center planning and re-planning (Within the 72)
•                    Rejections/Diversions
•                    CRR’s
•                    Dedicated vs Line Haul Utilization
•                    Dedicated Invoicing (Fallouts)
•                    Fractional pallet and inter-regional flows (PNO model realization for how we move pallets back and forth across the border)
•                    Monitor the spot market (Call carriers to negotiate rates, work with Logistics to make changes so freight is more attractive. Determine high SM volume and work on capacity)

•                    On Time Performance (OTP)
•                    TPM Dwell
•                    SR Response Time
•                    Inventory Management (Stock Outs, Service Center Capacities, ETC.)
•                    Mapping Compliance
•                    Spot Market Usage
•                    CRR Response Time
•                    Accessorial Response Time

Authority/ Decision Making       
•                    Load planning (within the 72)
•                    Mapping changes based on current production needs
•                    Rate negotiation with carriers

Qualifications:
•                    Undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain, or equivalent (Education in Process)
•                    Strong analytical skills
•                    Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
•                    Desirable Qualifications
•                    Six Sigma Knowledge

Experience
Logistics, Transportation, Operations, Engineering, or Customer Service educational background would be preferred.
 
Skills and Knowledge
•                    Microsoft Office Suite (Excel) – Proficient
•                    Displays a sense of urgency
•                    Ability to multi-task and operate under pressure to meet tight deadlines
•                    Demonstrated ability to lead cross functional efforts and drive results
•                    Ability to communicate with diverse audiences and deliver appropriate message
