POSITION TITLE: Marketing Intern, Spring Semester, Non-Paid
DEPARTMENT: Marketing & Communications
REPORTS TO: Director of Marketing & Communications
WORK HOURS: 12.5 per week
INTERNSHIP LOCATION: MidPointe Cincinnati
DATE: January 2021
OVERVIEW:
Catholic Charities Southwestern Ohio is seeking a Marketing & Communications Intern to assist and support the Director of Marketing & Communications in meeting agency marketing goal. While we are flexible, we would like this internship to begin January 25, 2021 and run through May 14, 2021. 
This Marketing & Communications Internship is not only a way to earn valuable hands-on experience, but to serve neighbors in need. 
 POSITION SUMMARY:
The Marketing Intern is responsible for assisting the Director of Marketing & Communication in meeting the department's goals:
1.           Increase awareness of Catholic Charities Southwestern Ohio, its mission with a focus on empowerment, and its programs within the Archdiocese of Cincinnati
2.           Increase volunteer participation
3.           Increase donations 
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
•            Coordinate social media campaigns on Facebook, Twitter, Linked In, and Instagram using the Hootsuite application
•            Lead paid media creative development
•            Take part in event coordination 
MINIMUM SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
•            Attention to detail/analytical
•            Organized and diligent
•            Strong writing skills
•            3rd or 4th year college student, currently enrolled
•            Marketing major or related field 
PREFERRED SKILLS:
•            Hootsuite
•            Adobe Acrobat 
ORGANIZATIONAL RESPONSIBILITY:
Interns of Catholic Charities Southwestern Ohio are encouraged to have some knowledge of the Catholic faith, a willingness to work for a Catholic, faith-based agency and adhere to the policies of Catholic Charities. Interns will not publicly oppose the teachings of the Catholic faith nor publicly advocate for any position in conflict with Catholic teaching, or the specific positions of the Archdiocese of Cincinnati or the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops. This requirement includes any public speech, demonstration or writing including the use of social media or other digital technologies.
As part of Catholic Charities Southwestern Ohio internship selection process, any offer to serve as an intern with our organization will be contingent on completion of a criminal background check (including FBI and/or BCI fingerprinting), pre-employment drug screen test, previous employment verification, education verification, any additional tests required for position, and I-9 Work Authorization. 
INTERNSHIP ENVIRONMENT:
Must be able to work inside an office environment, from home via computer, and outside in summer weather conditions. 
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this internship, the intern is regularly required to talk or hear. The intern must be able to read, write, and interpret written documents. The intern regularly is required to stand, walk, sit, use hands, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms. The intern frequently lifts and/or moves up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
