FINANCE INTERNSHIP
The Bon Secours Mercy Health Internship Program is a paid 10-12 week, immersive program that will expose students to the healthcare industry while also giving them the skills and experience needed to build a future career. The program also features additional opportunities for mentorship, networking, career & professional development, community service, job shadowing, and exposure to senior and executive leaders. Interns will work under the direction of Finance leadership by assisting the assigned team with various special projects.
LOCATION: Home Office in Cincinnati, OH (other locations may be available)
DATES: Monday, May 18th, 2021 - Friday, August 7th, 2021
HOURS: 40 hours per week for a minimum of 10 weeks
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Collect, interpret, and identify trends in data
  • Develop standard and ad hoc reports
  • Assist in any imports or exports of the data, maintain a current knowledge of healthcare trends and operations
  • Examine historical and projected financial data to provide valuable data upon which to make relevant financial decisions
  • Assist with the preparation and analytical review of the monthly financial report
  • Assist in the development and dissemination of financial projections for insertion into the annual Operating Financial Plan for each Region’s physician practice strategic plan
  • Support the Physician Finance reporting and analytics team and function as needed regarding reporting, budgeting and market support
  • Support the development and execution of processes, systems, and technology solutions for Bon Secours Mercy Health's clinically integrated networks and Population Health strategy
  • Perform data analysis supporting multiple initiatives in Population Health Discovering insightful trends, conducting impactful analysis, simplifying large data into salient points and summarizing key findings for leadership are all important for success in this role
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Finance or Accounting
  • Strong service orientation
  • Self-starter with strong work ethic and sense of accountability
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite – specifically Excel and PowerPoint
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must be self-motivated, capable of taking initiative, successfully handle and prioritize multiple competing priorities, and effectively manage deadlines
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and have strong rapport with the leaders and colleagues
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong time management and organization skills
