Android Engineer

Our Android Engineers bring innovative products to life within Procter and Gamble by doing ground-breaking android engineering work and treating usability as our top priority. Our Android engineers use the best of the latest tooling and standard methodologies from Google to power the highest quality consumer experiences worldwide.
This role requires collaboration across every function of the team, from user interface and experience designers to integration with our global platform engineers. Android engineers deliver high-quality code and are advocates in the conversation for P&G consumers using Android devices across the globe.
As an Android Engineer you will:
    * Work with the team and ask questions to ensure the solutions match the problems at hand.
    * Build out new and existing android applications using Kotlin and the latest recommended tools from Google (such as Android Jetpack)
    * Convert designs from tools like Sketch and Invision into Android layouts
    * Maintain security and privacy at or above the industry standard/global legal requirements
    * Integrate with various internal and external (3rd party) APIs
    * Learn and iterate solutions based on feedback from colleagues, partners, and, most importantly, our consumers.

REQUIRED SKILLS:
Individuals set up for maximum success are:

    * Able to challenge with understanding and receive those challenges in kind
We are looking for someone with a Bachelor’s Degree or 2+ years software engineering experience that has published at least 1 Android app to the Google play store.
These skills would also be advantageous:
    * Experience with Kotlin
    * Experience with Android BLE stack
    * Experience with consuming GraphQL APIs
    * Experience with commonly used Android libraries (Retrofit, RxJava, RxBLE)
    * Experience with the MVVM pattern on Android
