Economic Development Fall Internship

Job Description: The City of Middletown’s Economic Development Department is pleased to offer an internship opportunity for current students, at the graduate and undergraduate level, who are interested in a career in marketing, media, communications, public administration, economic development or similar fields. This twelve week*, fifteen – twenty hours per week program, will offer students the opportunity to gain experience working in city government administration, economic development, marketing, and communications. This internship opportunity will expose an interested student to a variety of functions that will be invaluable in pursuing a career in a variety of industries. Students will gain knowledge working with:

•         Community and economic development; and

•         Marketing and communications.

Pay: This internship opportunity will provide students a wage of $12.00/hr. or $2,160 (@ 15 hrs/week) to $2,880 (@ 20 hrs/week) for the full twelve week duration.

Qualifications: Students must be in a degree program for marketing, media, communications, public administration, economic development or similar programs. Students must have an understanding of photography, producing videos for web and social media content, database management, website updates, graphic design, and social media support.
