About the Team
The Sourcing and Supply Chain team at Covance is seeking an intern to assist with two specific projects that will bring efficiencies to the department and how it interacts with other functional areas at Covance. These projects are related to inventory management and forecasting – which is a great opportunity for someone studying Supply Chain Management to gain exposure to real world situations, and to do so in a complex and fast paced industry. The Drug Development industry is also a highly regulated industry and a portion of the projects will relate to the logistics aspect of a global supply chain.
Project 1 – Consists of the creation of a comprehensive product catalog. This will allow internal access to all active items and all of its attributes in one place. In order for this to finalize and become a fully operational, there is a large amount of data that needs to be reviewed and cleaned up.
Project 2 – Consists of process improvements in forecasting and inventory management. These improvements require some data gathering and analysis to ensure the changes are creating the efficiencies expected.
