Police Recruit

The Cincinnati Police Department is an award-winning, nationally-recognized law enforcement agency that uses evidence-based policing, intelligence-driven strategies, community involvement and technology to make Cincinnati one of the safest cities in Ohio. To continue this trend, the Department is especially seeking candidates with technology/data management expertise, social media experience, ability to speak multiple languages, military experience and college courses/college degrees. Candidates must be 21 years old by the time being sworn in as a Police Officer, be a high school graduate or equivalent (GED); college is preferred but not required, and be a U.S. citizen with a valid Ohio driver’s license for at least one year prior to application. The salary for a Police Recruit is $36,526. Upon graduation from the Police Academy, a Police Recruit will be promoted to Police Officer. A Police Officer's salary is $62,730.59 to $76,529.49.
