Informational Technology Internship (Fall 2020)
This position requires a mix of in person and remote work. A laptop computer will be supplied but access to the internet is required.
The IIT intern would be responsible for the implementation and management of our new inventory software. Tasks would include: assisting with overall structure, importing asset type and manufacturer information, labeling assets, tracking supply levels, using software to monitor supply levels, and evaluate trends. In addition, the intern would get hands on experience with projects such as; general IT help desk support, AV interactive development, general museum AV/IT maintenance, etc.
Additional Internship Duties
- Writing asset descriptions
- Linking PO''s to inventory
- Scanning equipment in/out of inventory
- Participating in weekly IIT staff meetings
- Creating best practice rules for new equipment ingestion to inventory
- Assist with development of new AV interactives
- Research new equipment/technology
- Drafting monthly reports on inventory levels
Internship Requirements
· Majoring in Inventory Management, Logistics, Information Technology, or Audio Visual Technology preferred
· Hours: 4-6 hour shifts
· Other necessary requirements: General computer skills, experience with inventory software is preferred (not required), ability to stay on task and self-manage
· Physical Requirements: ability to stand for an hour at a time, ability to lift up to 30 pounds
