Environmental Regulations Intern

What you will be doing:

This internship is paid and the work is remote.
You will focus largely on global regulatory compliance research and data management. The candidate will be expected to identify and evaluate process improvement opportunities for regulatory compliance-related sustainability data with emphasis on consumer product environmental requirements and the integration of compliance information into an existing centralized data management system.


As a result of this experience, you will gain:

  • Global environmental regulatory research experience with limited supply chain exposure.
  • Global systems experience, including possible SAP use.
  • Project organizational skills.
  • Environmental (typically chemical-related) regulatory exposure.
  • Possible exposure to engineering bills of materials and specifications.
  • Standard work and process development skills.


Who you are:

  • 1st year law student interested in research related to sustainability and global regulatory compliance
  • Desire to work full-time during the summer and potentially part time during the school year.  Work may be remote and/or in the Steelcase office.
  • Have a passion or strong interest in sustainability.
  • Eager to grow in knowledge relating to global compliance and regulations.
  • Excellent process, project and time management skills.
  • Proven verbal and written communication skills for interaction with employees at all levels of the organization and in representing the company with outside audiences.
  • Ability to prioritize, utilizing strong organization skills.
  • Proficient technology knowledge and ability to learn new tech tools.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with limited supervision.


Qualifications:

  • Completed first year of law school
  • Multilingual is a plus.

You will work with a dynamic team, consisting of sustainability colleagues from various regions of the world and numerous departments throughout the organization. The Sustainability Analyst Intern will support a PhD, Principal Scientist of Green Chemistry & Sustainability.
