Graphic Artist

POSITION SUMMARY:
This position manages and follows procedures for assembling, recording and managing data and documentation associated with the creation, approval, communication and implementation of new and revised labeling, packaging specifications and packaging bills of materials for selected products produced in U.S. or export markets
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Execution of Artwork transactions for PR operations on product launches, PNS transfers, regulatory changes, and Site generated packaging changes. Among the activies are: Fit Test/Mock-up, Review and approve Color Standards of Pantone Colors, Structural Drawing create and modify modifications in agree with Technical Services Dept., Artwork Creations, Artwork posting for each supplier in the individual FTP Site, Upload PDF artworks to ePALMs to send to market approval, Upload ZPL file of SC Label artworks to Shipper Label System Version 1.5, Scan SC Label artworks of Zebra Printer to send PDF to market approval, Operate Autoproof System – DocuProof, ArtProof, BarProof and BraileProof, Storage and manage artworks files in a Virtual Server. Contributed ideas and design artwork to standardize and optimize the packaging and packaging components process.
  • Responsible to create artwork for pharmaceutical packaging as required to support Packaging production sites. The activities include: Create artworks following the last version of Artwork Guidelines (Trade Dress), Ensure to follow the operational element in the OEC provide by the Graphic Specialist, ensure to create the artwork in the appropriate structural drawing (safe area text, quiet zone and supplier requirements). Developed artworks for packaging and labeling components such as: IFC, ICL, Insert, Outserts, Medication Guide, SCL, Foil, Develop the applicable Barcode information of GS1, UPC, GTIN, Serialization and other following the standard requirements, Develop artworks in ZPL format for all Shipper Case Label and upload, print and change supplier of Zebra printer as needed, Approve the first Supplier run in the Press of the Full Color printing material, to ensure they can apply the appropriate full color combination, Print SC Label Artwork and ensure the barcodes was created following the serialization and GS1 standards with the LVS Scan equipment.
  • Develop new and revised artwork based upon editor’s copy and knowledge of Pfizer Standard Operating Procedures, FDA regulations and current GMP’s based on Pfizer, third-party or external supply artwork guidelines
  • Ensure that Pfizer labeling standards are met for all packaging components. These include: Market Regulation, Product Export Profile Requirements and PQS.
  • Prioritize work to ensure that all deadlines are met. Follow FIFO of PAR approval for task of business as usual. Develop a weekly plan to manage the priority or last-minute orders that can impact the business continuity and customers. Notify the close deadline artwork approval date that can impact the implementation date to the PAR Coordinator.
  • Keep all graphics market request and guidelines current and accurate. These includes: Contact the market coordinator to clarify any doubt in the artwork creation to avoid the upload delay. Use the Autoproof System to capture any errors in the text information and ensure the artwork uploaded follow the USA or International regulations (GMPs) and accurate
  • Take photos to packaging components in order to resolve or shown components issues to suppliers, complaints technical investigations or packaging process situations.
  • Maintain and control the product shipper labels database.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline, preferable Graphic Design.
  • Excellent communications skills (verbal and written) in English and Spanish as well as presentation skills
  • Two (2) or more years working in a MacOS and Window environment.
  • Five (2) or more years working in the last version of Adobe Creative Suite, such a: Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop
  • Two (2) or more years working with Label Matrix software
  • Knowledge to manage software related to Barcode creation such a: BC Studio
  • Knowledge to manage ZPL files
  • Experience in pharmaceutical environment preferred.
  • Individual must be extremely detail oriented, and familiar with working in a structured, SOP, FDA and cGMP environment.
  • Should be familiar with preparation of artwork and files for offset, flexographic, Zebra Printers, LVS System and gravure printing.
  • Knowledge of Citrix Workspace, ePALMs, Microsoft Office, Microsoft TEAMs and SAP Systems.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee very frequently works in a normal office temperature environment.  The noise of the work environment is usually normal.
ENVIRONMENTAL, HEALTH AND SAFETY (EHS):

  • Audits area to assure compliance with safety, environmental regulation and safety equipment
  • Advises and keeps inform the operators in all E.H.S. related issues.
  • Ensures that product / process / equipment comply with Pfizer E.H.S. standards during validation exercises.
